The Medical Documentation and Secretarial program within the Department of Medical Services and Techniques is an associate degree program. In this regard, the purpose of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program is; Medical secretaries and health personnel who record and archive medical documents and documents, compile information and documents recorded in printed or electronic media, have a good command of medical terminology, save time for those who receive and provide health services by communicating in written and oral form, respect ethical rules and are trained in the field of medical documentation and secretarial work, are available to the public. is to gain.

Goals of the Program
The main purpose of the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program is; To train qualified human resources who are familiar with the basic principles, processes and management of health services and who communicate effectively. In parallel with the development of the Health Services sector in our country, the need for qualified personnel is also increasing. In this regard, it is aimed to train medical secretaries needed by health institutions and organizations in the field of medical documentation and secretariat. The program aims to provide students with the following competencies;

  2. Carrying out patient admission procedures,
  3. Informing the patient about the operation of the institution and medical services,
  4. Keeping patient medical records,
  5. To carry out communication and correspondence services in administrative and medical units,
  6. To archive patient files and other documents and reports deemed necessary using scientific methods and to submit them to service,
  7. To code diseases and health-related problems according to the determined "international classification of diseases" systems,
  8. To compile data related to medical statistics and analyze them with scientific methods and report the results periodically to the relevant authorities.
The program also aims for students to gain strong communication skills, acquire problem-solving skills, and graduate as productive and hard-working individuals.

Admission Requirements
The basic admission conditions are that the candidates must meet the conditions determined by ÖSYM, be a high school graduate and have sufficient points from the University Student Selection Examination. For horizontal transfers, individuals must also meet the acceptance requirements.

Graduation Requirements
Students who have 120 ECTS/ECTS, a GPA of "2.00" out of 4.00 and have completed their compulsory internship are entitled to graduation. Graduates are awarded an associate degree in the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Program.

Employment Opportunities
Graduates who successfully complete the Medical Documentation and Secretarial Associate Degree Program work in medical units such as clinics, polyclinics, laboratories, operating rooms and emergency services in private and public health institutions, as well as in administrative units such as health boards, patient admissions and patient files archives.
